Actor: Alida Valli

Alida Valli was a major star in Italy before Hollywood, and The Third Man gives her Anna, who is loyal to a man who does not deserve it and who walks past the protagonist in the closing shot without stopping.

She then worked with Antonioni, Visconti and Pasolini, and Suspiria gives her a late horror role as a dance academy administrator.

She left Hollywood after a few years, having found the studio contract system intolerable, and worked in Europe for the rest of a sixty-year career.
