Paul Rudd shares screenwriting credit on Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, having been brought in with Adam McKay to rework the script after Edgar Wright departed.

That credit is unusual for a lead actor in a studio franchise and reflects how much of the comic register in those films came from the performers reshaping the material.

He also co-wrote Role Models, and his writing work is consistently in comedy where the voice is his own, not in structural rebuilding.
