Image is the religious and inspirational imprint of the Crown Publishing Group at Penguin Random House, publishing Catholic and broadly Christian spiritual writing for a general readership.
Founded as Image Books in 1954 as a paperback line of Catholic titles, it made serious spiritual and theological writing available cheaply at a moment when most of it was confined to specialist religious publishers.
Its catalog includes Thomas Merton, Henri Nouwen, and G. K. Chesterton, alongside contemporary spiritual writing, and it published the English edition of Anthony de Mello's Awareness in 1990, assembled from recordings of his talks after his death.
