Sondra Locke was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her first film, The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, and appeared in six films with Clint Eastwood during their thirteen-year relationship. Their acrimonious separation and her subsequent lawsuit against him and against Warner Bros became a long public matter which she wrote about at length.
