Blade Runner (1982) Review
The theatrical cut of Blade Runner, with Deckard's voiceover narration intact, is the correct version of this film. That position is unfashionable.
Rutger Hauer played Roy Batty in Blade Runner, and the tears in rain speech was substantially rewritten by him on the night before shooting, cutting it down to what is now among the most quoted monologues in cinema. He was Dutch, worked repeatedly with Paul Verhoeven early, and gave a genuinely frightening performance in The Hitcher.
