Martin Landau won Best Supporting Actor for Ed Wood, playing Bela Lugosi in old age and addiction, under prosthetics that took hours daily. North by Northwest gave him an early henchman, and Mission: Impossible gave him a long television run. He studied at the Actors Studio alongside Steve McQueen, the only two accepted from two thousand applicants that year.
