I’m Richard Lowe, a ghostwriter and author who lives in Pinellas County, the peninsula that holds Clearwater, Safety Harbor, St. Petersburg, and a long string of towns in between. I don’t just work from one address here. I’ve driven most of these roads, stopped in most of these towns, and worked with people scattered across the county. If you want a ghostwriter who actually knows where you live, you’ve found one. If you want the full picture, here are my ghostwriting services.
A County Worth Exploring
Pinellas is a peninsula, and that shapes the whole feel of the place. There’s the Gulf side to the west, with the beaches and the open water that turns rough when the weather does, and the calmer bay side to the east. Between them sits a chain of towns, most of them a good size, each with its own character, its own little shops and local things to do.
I like to explore it. I take road trips through the county for no better reason than to see what’s there, and there’s always something: a local spot, a stretch of waterfront, a corner of a town I hadn’t noticed before. The area is building up fast these days, but it still rewards anyone willing to wander. That same curiosity is what makes me a decent ghostwriter: I’m genuinely interested in places, people, and what makes them tick, which is most of the job when you’re trying to write a book in someone else’s voice.
Working with People Across the County
Over the years I’ve worked with people from around Pinellas, mostly bloggers and small-book authors, the kind of local clients who had something to say and wanted help saying it well. Some of that work started over a meal in town; some of it started with a phone call from a few miles up the road. The advantage of a local ghostwriter is simple: when you describe your corner of the county, I already know it. I also write for authors in Clearwater.
My Process
Every book begins with an interview to find its shape and build a working outline. Then we go deep, twenty to forty interviews depending on the size of the book. That’s where your voice and knowledge come out, and it’s the raw material for everything that follows. I also write for authors in Safety Harbor.
I use AI tools to help structure the overview outline, which you approve before any writing starts. From there we work chapter by chapter: I outline each chapter, write it myself, send it to you, take your feedback, and revise until it’s right, roughly a week per chapter. You get revisions as we go, plus one full revision pass at the end. A 30,000-word book usually takes about four months through the writing; an 80,000-word book, seven to eight. I also write for authors in St. Petersburg. Most of my work is remote, which suits clients spread across the county, but local folks are welcome to meet in person, usually over in Safety Harbor.
What I Actually Do
I take your ideas and expertise and turn them into a finished book that reads as if you wrote it on your best day. You stay the author; your name goes on the cover. I’ve written more than 113+ books under my own name, including the Kindle bestseller Focus on LinkedIn, and ghostwritten over 54+ for other people, everything from blog work and short books to full-length manuscripts.
The Technical Difference
Before I wrote books, I spent decades in information technology: data centers, systems, the demanding technical side of business. That means I can write the books most ghostwriters quietly turn down: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, machine learning, the Internet of Things. If your book lives in a technical or business world, you won’t spend the first month teaching me the basics. I also write for authors in Palm Harbor. I came out of the technical field; I’m not faking my way into it.
Common Questions
Do I keep the rights to my book?
Yes. You keep all rights and all credit. It’s your book and your name on it. I’m rarely on the cover, usually just acknowledged on the copyright page or in the back, if at all. I also write for authors in Largo.
Is the book written by AI?
No. I use AI to help structure outlines, but I write every chapter myself, and you approve each one. The work that makes a book sound like you is human work.
How long will my book take?
Roughly four months for a 30,000-word book, seven to eight for an 80,000-word book, including interviews, chapter writing, and the final revision pass.
Do you work across all of Pinellas County?
Yes. Gulf side, bay side, and the towns in between. Most work is remote, with in-person meetings for local clients, usually in Safety Harbor.

Looking for something more specific? I also work statewide in Florida. I have pages for individual towns across the county: Clearwater, Safety Harbor, St. Petersburg, Largo, Palm Harbor, and statewide across Florida.
Let’s Talk
Wherever you are in Pinellas County, Gulf side, bay side, or one of the towns in between, if there’s a book in you that isn’t getting written, let’s have a conversation. The first consultation is free, and there’s no pressure. You tell me about your book; I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person to write it.
