Shambhala Publications is an independent American publishing house founded in 1969 in Berkeley, California, by Samuel Bercholz and Michael Fagan, specializing in Buddhism, Eastern religion and philosophy, contemplative practice, yoga, mindfulness, and creativity. Shambhala publishes Chogyam Trungpa, Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hanh, Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones), and many other working authors at the intersection of contemplative practice and the working creative life. It is one of the leading English-language publishers of Buddhist literature in the world.
