Knopf Canada is a Canadian literary imprint founded in 1991 as part of Random House of Canada, now Penguin Random House Canada, publishing literary fiction and serious nonfiction by Canadian and international authors.
Its New Face of Fiction program, which launched debut Canadian novelists with substantial marketing support, produced several international successes and is credited with changing how Canadian literary debuts reached readers.
It published Yann Martel's Life of Pi in 2001, which had been turned down by several London houses before Knopf Canada took it. The novel won the Booker Prize the following year and sold many millions of copies worldwide.
