Hay House is an American publisher founded in 1984 by Louise Hay, initially to publish her own book You Can Heal Your Life, and now one of the largest self-help and mind-body-spirit publishers in the world.
Its catalog covers personal development, alternative health, spirituality, and inspirational titles, and it has published Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, Gabrielle Bernstein, and a very substantial roster of authors in those categories. It also runs events, online courses, and a radio operation, which makes it a media company as much as a publisher.
The house is commercially formidable and has been criticised for publishing health claims that lack evidential support, particularly in its alternative medicine list. Both facts are part of its record.
