Actor: William H. Macy

William H Macy was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Fargo, playing Jerry Lundegaard, whose scheme unravels from the first scene and who keeps insisting it is fine.

He came from the Atlantic Theater Company with David Mamet and appears in most of his films. Boogie Nights and Magnolia gave him Paul Thomas Anderson work, and Shameless gave him a long television lead. He was implicated by association in the college admissions scandal involving his wife and was not charged.
