Kenneth Branagh’s acting career is inseparable from his directing, and Henry V earned him nominations in both categories at twenty-nine.

He has played Hamlet, Iago, Benedick and Henry V on screen, and his uncut Hamlet remains the only complete filmed version.

The later supporting work is where he is most reliably good: Dunkirk, Oppenheimer, Tenet and the Wallander series. He plays Hercule Poirot in his own adaptations, with a moustache that has generated its own commentary.
